     Charles Dellar was born on 14 April 1797 at Greensted, Essex, England, .1 He was christened on 14 April 1797 at Greensted, Essex, England, .1 He was the son of William Dellar and Sarah Mumford. Charles Dellar married Mary Anne Field, daughter of Benjamin Field and Hester Titmus, on 4 March 1821 at Hertford, Hertfordshire, England, .1 On October 15, 1839 Charles was convicted at Essex Assizes of stealing a lamb, and was sentenced to 15 years & transportation. He was shipped from England on February 20, 1840 aboard the ship Mandarin and arrived in Van Diemens Land on June 30, 1840. He received a Conditional Pardon on July 20, 1852 and was a passenger on the ship Yarra Yarra to Melbourne on August 20, 1852.
